Thomas Judisch lenkt unseren Blick auf die pralle Lebenswirklichkeit der ‚kleinen Preziosen’ des Alltags und gibt uns mit seinem Werk einen Schlüssel an die Hand, damit wir die Welt in ihrer ganzen beiläufigen Schönheit erfassen können. Seine Arbeiten, die er oft als Interventionen im Museumskontext gezeigt hat, kann man mit einem Augenzwinkern betrachten, denn der Künstler pflegt einen spielerischen, ironischen Umgang mit dem Material. Nichts ist bei ihm, wie es scheint. Gekonnt spielt er auf der Klaviatur der Augentäuschungen und des Trompe-l’oeils und lädt zu einem Parcours durch unseren Alltag ein.

Thomas Judisch steers our gaze to the firm reality of life of the “small, precious things” of the everyday world, and, with his work, puts a key for comprehending the world in its quite incidental beauty into our hands. One can view his works, which he has often presented as interventions in the museum context, with a twinkle in one’s eye, since the artist cultivates a playful, ironic handling of the material. In his works, nothing is as it appears. He skillfully plays the keyboard of optical illusions and Trompe-l’oeil and invites going on a parcours through our day-to-day world.
